    Class TransactionalStoreUnavailableError

    Rejected by verify() of the store createDatabaseIdempotencyStore builds when the configured backend cannot serve tier C.

    The store runs verify() at startup, before the first within, so an unusable backend is a named startup failure rather than a request that fails every time. The adapter's own error, when there is one, is kept as cause for the log; the message names the entity and the reason, never a record's contents.

    import { TransactionalStoreUnavailableError } from '@setu-ts/database-plugin';

    try {
    await app.start({ port: 3000 });
    } catch (error) {
    if (
    error instanceof TransactionalStoreUnavailableError &&
    error.reason === 'mongodb-standalone'
    ) {
    // run MongoDB as a replica set
    }
    throw error;
    }

    • Creates the error.

      Parameters

      • entity: string

        The idempotency entity the store was configured with

      • reason:
            | "entity-unavailable"
            | "cosmos-unsupported"
            | "bigtable-unsupported"
            | "mongodb-standalone"

        Why the backend cannot serve tier C

      • Optionaloptions: ErrorOptions

        Native error options; cause is the adapter's refusal

      Returns TransactionalStoreUnavailableError

    cause?: unknown
    entity: string

    The idempotency entity the store was configured with.

    message: string
    name: "TransactionalStoreUnavailableError" = 'TransactionalStoreUnavailableError'

    Discriminant for consumers that cannot use instanceof across realms.

    reason:
        | "entity-unavailable"
        | "cosmos-unsupported"
        | "bigtable-unsupported"
        | "mongodb-standalone"

    Why the backend cannot serve tier C — a fixed vocabulary, so an application can branch on it without matching message text:

    • 'cosmos-unsupported' — a Cosmos DB transaction is one partition, and the idempotency record cannot be made to share the business partition.
    • 'bigtable-unsupported' — Bigtable allows one row per transaction.
    • 'mongodb-standalone' — the server refused a transaction (code 20, IllegalOperation): MongoDB transactions need a replica set.
    • 'entity-unavailable' — anything else: the idempotency entity is missing or unreadable.
    stack?: string
    stackTraceLimit: number

    The Error.stackTraceLimit property specifies the number of stack frames collected by a stack trace (whether generated by new Error().stack or Error.captureStackTrace(obj)).

    The default value is 10 but may be set to any valid JavaScript number. Changes will affect any stack trace captured after the value has been changed.

    If set to a non-number value, or set to a negative number, stack traces will not capture any frames.

    • Creates a .stack property on targetObject, which when accessed returns a string representing the location in the code at which Error.captureStackTrace() was called.

      const myObject = {};
      Error.captureStackTrace(myObject);
      myObject.stack; // Similar to `new Error().stack`

      The first line of the trace will be prefixed with ${myObject.name}: ${myObject.message}.

      The optional constructorOpt argument accepts a function. If given, all frames above constructorOpt, including constructorOpt, will be omitted from the generated stack trace.

      The constructorOpt argument is useful for hiding implementation details of error generation from the user. For instance:

      function a() {
      b();
      }

      function b() {
      c();
      }

      function c() {
      // Create an error without stack trace to avoid calculating the stack trace twice.
      const { stackTraceLimit } = Error;
      Error.stackTraceLimit = 0;
      const error = new Error();
      Error.stackTraceLimit = stackTraceLimit;

      // Capture the stack trace above function b
      Error.captureStackTrace(error, b); // Neither function c, nor b is included in the stack trace
      throw error;
      }

      a();
